Personal training

Personal training is where you work face to face, with a Personal Trainer in a resistance based environment. Either a gym, or in your home.

Why have a personal trainer?

Personal Training can help educate you on what exercises you should be doing to reach your specific goals. Even if you currently use a gym, you will learn more intricate exercises, and be able to do a wider range of exercises when you have a PT with you.

Working with a PT will ensue you keep correct form throughout all your exercises. Doing exercises badly will not have their desired effect, plus it will risk injury.

Working with a professional will assist you in setting realistic goals, and ensure you stay on track to achieve these goals.

It’s very easy to waste time in a gym on your own. ‘What to do next…?’, ‘The machine I want isn’t in use’ etc. A PT will be able to adapt any exercise to use different bits of equipment to ensure you’re not wasting any time in your workouts.

I often find I’m an unofficial therapist with my clients. Life is never consistent and in times where you’re injured, demotivated, or tired, I’m there to pick you up, put you through your paces, and you’ll always feel better when we’re finished! People training on their own will often just not do the session and then feel worse later.

It’s a complete workout! A lot of people I know work quite hard when they’re on their own, running or in the gym, but they won’t include the intricate core, or stability work, or they won’t stretch properly, both of which can have detrimental effects in the long term! I always make sure workouts are thorough, and complete, to ensure maximum long term benefit.

It’s fun! Enough said. You work hard but it’s always enjoyable!
