Best race results?
My best race results are my only race results! I did my first triathlon, Luxembourg 70.3 in 6.40 and the Thorpe Park Sprint in 1.26
Future goals?
I want to become the best athlete I can be and qualify next year as an age grouper on the Dutch team. Ideally, I’d get a place in the European and/or World Champs in 2021!
Something you’ve learnt from coaching?
In the few months I’ve had serious coaching, I’ve learned more than in 3 years of running on my own. I’m slowly learning not to underestimate myself, and that more training isn’t always best. Listen to your body and your coach, and you’ll get faster.
Favourite type of session?
A hard interval swim – swimming is my favourite discipline.
Favourite piece of kit?
My pull buoy I think! I love swim drills, and it’s super useful for some extra arm strength.
What bike do you ride?
My first ever road bike still, a Lapierre. Alloy frame, but was the brand that won the Tour De France this year!
Fun fact about you?
I won most improved athlete after a training camp in Lanzarote, because I only learned to change to my small gear-ring on my bike that week, after Paul pointed out to me it was actually there :’) By this point I already rode a 115km sportive in the Surrey hills a few months before and spent a full 4h on a bike in Lanzarote. No wonder my legs were sore!
Hobbies outside of triathlon?
I love singing and I play guitar/ukulele
